Yoga at School

YOGA AT SCHOOL is a non-competitive practice for students to engage in. It provides an opportunity for students to relax, have fun, get to know themselves, build positive relationships and support their physical and mental wellbeing. Year 11 and 12 students experience significant pressures and changes at this time of their life. I therefore cater the practice of yoga to their current needs, making it an enjoyable and relevant learning experience. Each class explores different themes, including:

  • Managing stress and reducing anxiety
  • Sleep issues
  • Digestion
  • Building physical strength
  • Relaxation
  • Reducing back pain
  • Menstruation
  • Mental clarity and focus
  • General wellbeing
  • Self Esteem
  • Flexibility and release of physical tension

I currently teach yoga to year 11 and 12 students, an elective for the extra curricular winter and summer program. During each semester, students learn yoga postures, breathing exercises, meditation and yogic philosophy.
